Preliminary Task

Int; Corridor well lit.

The camera is following a BOY walking down the corridor; he is about sixteen years old and is wearing casual clothes.

(He walks up to a door)

Close up on the door handle, the boys hand twists and opens the door.

Int; room well lit. Inside the room there is a desk with two chairs sitting opposite each other. A GIRL, wearing casual clothes, is sitting in one of the seats.

(BOY enters the room and sits down)

BOY
(Looks worried)

Have you got it?

GIRL

(She takes a USB out of her pocket and puts in on the table)

That depends, have you got the money.

BOY

(Pleading with GIRL)

I can get it tomorrow, just give me more time. I’m so close; please just give me more time.

GIRL

(She shakes her head and picks up the USB again and puts it back in her pocket)

Today was your last chance!

(Smiles menacingly)

 

Story Board

Shot List

The first shot is tracking shot down the corridor, we see a girl walking down into a corridor
The second shot is another tracking shot of the girl walking through the corridor but a different angle, in this shot the girl opens the door.
The third shot is a shot from inside the room the girl has just entered, we see her open the rest of the door and walk into the room.
The forth shot is the girl walking up to a table in the room, another girl is already sitting at the table and see comes into view while the camera pans right.
The fifth shot is a close up of the chair the girl is about to sit in.
The sixth shot is a shot of both girls, sitting at equal height.
The seven, eighth, ninth, tenth and eleventh is a shot-reverse-shot of a conventation the two are having.

The Change I had to make to the script

The change I had to make was the role of boy, due to the actors avaible we had to use a girl for the role.
I had to make no other changes in the script, the dialogue is the same from the sricpt to the screen. Also all the stage directions are the same.

The changes I had to make to the Story Board

We kept the two first shots tracking shots down into a corridor, but this time we change it from the front move backwards with the girl in shot, then a shot from the back moving foward with the girl in shot.
The next shot we choose to have a close up of the door handle as she opens it.
The fourth shot is when the girl enters the room, we have the camera follow her to her seat and she sits down. We cut out the shots of her walking to the chair and the close up of the chair as she sat.
We then have a shot-reverse-shot of a conversation between the two.
The scene ends with a close up of the magical object in the scene, a memory stick that has been placed on the table.
